Calories in Fruit and Vegetables

Free list of calories in fruit and vegetables for lasting weight loss.

Both fruit and vegetables have a low amount of calories compared to other food sources, which makes them some of the best weight loss foods. You’ll always find fruit and veggies on a list of low calorie foods.

Are You Avoiding Fruit?

Some fruits contain a fair amount of sugar which gives them a high glycemic index, and you may be hesitant to include more fruit into your diet.

If you eat only fruit and in large quantities, it may affect your blood sugar levels in a negative way, but that’s not often the case. Normally you would mix the fruit with food that have a low glycemic index, as yogurt, if you make a smoothie. This lowers the glycemic index of the final food.

With the problem of the high glycemic index out of the way, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to enjoy the health benefits of fruit even when you are on a weight loss regime as the content of calories in fruit is low.

A Few Words on Veggies

Vegetables are even lower in calorie content than fruit and you don’t have to worry about if they will affect your blood sugar levels in a bad way or not. They won’t! The only thing you have to do is try to include more veggies into your diet, especially as you want to reach your ideal weight.

Both fruit and vegetables contain carbohydrates, but of the good unprocessed kind. Try replacing pastries and cakes with fruit as often as you can. Vegetables are good replacements for processed carbs like rice, pasta and bread.

The high water content combined with the richness in fiber (not to mention all the vitamins and trace elements) makes fruit and veggies an excellent choice of food during weight loss.

Have you considered vegetable or fruit juicing?
